David Grady is a Principal Client Partner and Security Evangelist for Verizon Enterprise Solutions. In this role, David meets regularly with C-level leaders from technology-driven companies worldwide to help them refine and achieve their cybersecurity objectives. David also represents Verizon’s cybersecurity offerings and capabilities by speaking at conferences, writing white papers and blogs, and speaking to the media.
David joined Verizon in 2015 from State Street Corporation, where he was a Vice President in its Corporate Information Security group. At State Street, David was key to the design and implementation of a 24x7x365 cybersecurity monitoring capability, and he oversaw a network of information security officers driving compliance in business lines across the globe. He also managed the bank’s third-party cyber risk management team and created a data leakage prevention program.
Prior to State Street, David was a Senior Vice President in the Information Risk Management group at Citizens Bank, one the largest regional banks in the U.S. At Citizens, David created an e-discovery and records management function, and he managed the security training and awareness team.
Before becoming a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), David was a reporter for the Boston Globe, a deputy press secretary to two Boston mayors, and taught classes in web design at Emerson College in Boston. An experienced public speaker, David gave a TED Talk in 2013 about employee engagement challenges that has been viewed close to 2 million times. He has a Master of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Suffolk University.
